Disability Services
We offers a variety of work and skills training
opportunities to individuals with a diagnosed disability referred by sources
like the Department of Rehabilitation and Regional Center. Staff fluent in
English, Spanish and American Sign Language are at your service.

WorkSource and Career Resource Centers
Through a network of partners, SOLA WorkSource and Career Resource
Centers bring job seekers and employers together in one place. Employers
receive assistance finding candidates and screening prospective employees,
and career seekers receive assistance in the following areas:

- Computer and Skills Training

Customer Service/Retail Training
SOLA offers training to individuals interested in pursuing a career in the
Customer Service/Retail industry upon successful completion of the
Professional Employment Skills Training. Individuals will receive
classroom/hands-on experience in the customer service retail industry and
are required to attend all classes and complete an internships.
Training Objectives
- Understanding customer service basics
- Telephone etiquette and procedure
- Appropriate workplace behavior
Training Methods—A combination of classroom instruction, hands-on
training and work experience through an internship.
Training Timeline—This training consists of 80 hours of instruction and
work experience during a two-week time period.
Hands-on Coaching—Participants receive direct assistance from qualified
SOLA staff to ensure the best job placement and job retention
VETERAN ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (VAP)

success, and we are here with resources and support to help you find your own post-service success.
Standard Of Living Augmentation has established a program dedicated
solely to assisting veterans throughout the Tri-State Regions of PA, MD and
WV especially Franklin County, Fulton and Cumberland in Pennsylvania,
Washington and Frederick Counties in Mary Land and Berkley County in
West. Unemployed veterans from Golf War I & II benefit from a host of
services delivered via Universal Access, Core and Intensive Services.
Program Specialists, former vets themselves, are uniquely qualified to
respond to and address the special needs of those who have served our
country and now face the challenges of transitioning into a civilian world,
advance beyond their military careers and regain their independence, a sense
of pride, dignity and purpose for themselves, their families and
communities.
VAP advisors offers skills assessments, one-on-one career counseling,
employment preparation courses, educational and technical skills classes,
and work tools as well as access to a host of other partner services including
shelter and housing assistance, transportation assistance, medical and dental
health services, mental health and substance abuse counseling, Veterans
Benefits Assistance and more – all aimed at helping veterans secure
meaningful and sustainable employment

Documentation Requirements
- Current Photo ID
- Social Security Card, or Right-to-Work Documents
- DD 214, or Proof of Service Letter
- Proof of Income (e.g. EDD Unemployment Letter, GR Letter, etc.)
- Proof of Selective Service Registration (Males Only—Born after 01/01/1960)
Partnerships
SOLA is also connected with local universities, colleges, trade schools,
hospitals, clinics, businesses, community based organizations, unions and
government agencies to better assist veterans by providing comprehensive
services for those who require assistance in overcoming multiple barriers to
employment. Following is a list of partner organizations and a brief
description of our collaborative work:
Dress for Success
Dress for Success receives referrals from the Veteran Employment Program
for Veterans in need of professional attire. Female veterans are provided
with one professional outfit to attend a job interview. Once the female vet
has secured employment, Dress for Success will provide one week of
business attire, including accessories such as shoes, a purse, necklace and
earrings. Dress for Success also provides an ongoing support group as
women successfully transition into the workplace
